Meet India!
The Dancer in 'Squabble Up'
Q: Tell us a little about your journey and history as a dancer.
I was born and raised in Inglewood California. While my mom attended college at CSUN with my father; my grandmother watched and looked over me. In the beginning years, I did not know dance would be in my future. My journey started in 2006, where I fell in love with cheerleading and dance. I cheered in Pop Warner from 2006 until 2009. From there, I began coaching my own team within the Pop Warner division from 2010 to 2012. From 2013 to 2017, I gained, at my heaviest; 250 pounds all while still dancing and doing what I love to do. After some hard work; in 2019, I decided to audition for Lizzo, and this began my professional journey.
Q: How do you feel when wearing hoops? Do they add to your confidence or vibe in any way?
My connection to the bold energy hoops bring goes so far back to as early as I can remember. My grandma would take me to the Inglewood and Slauson swap meet and I would go crazy for the different styles and sizes i could choose. I have a very chill and laid back style that I need hoops in order to make my outfit.
Wearing Hoop Mobb in the Squabble up video made me feel more and more like myself! It gave me the authentic LA girl l and was so light weight to dance in. It made me feel more confident in my movement knowing they weren’t going anywhere.

Meet Victoria
One of the Stylists for 'Squabble Up'
Q: Tell us about your experience with hoops and why they were so important to include in the music video.
As you can see from the video, culture played a huge role. As a millennial, I can confidently say that so many iconic moments were highlighted, reminding us of a nostalgic era—the 2000s. When I first came in contact with Hoop Mobb I quickly became a fan. As a fashion girl early on, hoops have always been a staple for me—specifically the thin, huge ones from the beauty supply store. I didn’t have bamboo hoops (my parents weren’t budging), but my little cheap hoops got me through enhancing my outfit.
Hoop Mobb reminded me of the earrings I loved growing up. Seeing our dancer and their outfits, just made so much sense as it flowed so smoothly.
Q: Tell us a little about your journey as a stylist.
It all started from an internship and quickly grew into assisting and now I’m celebrating six years—phew! My background consists of costume design for live events to wardrobe styling, which I truly enjoy. I’ve been incredibly blessed to have been afforded many opportunities.
